After years of offering a dealer-only calendar, Glock decided they needed a calendar for the fans. With such a large family of pistols to show off, Glock wanted to focus on the most popular models and their role in owners lives. We had the challenge of developing concepts, planning production and executing a truly unique take on glamour product photography. Having seen it all before, we wanted to approach this project in a different way.
Though an ambitious undertaking under a time crunch, the Crater team underwent serious planning to sketch out each environment prior to shooting. These planning sketches proved their use by mapping out the composition and props we needed to source for each shot.
Rather than go the standard glamour shot route, we wanted to produce a calendar that fans could relate to and really geek out on.
After two long days in the studio, we were able to capture a series of beautiful images that really told a story. By presenting the pistols in real world scenarios and environments, the photography was set to echo the lifestyles of people who trust Glock every day. Following hours of careful handy work in post, we designed layouts to reflect each scenario tying into a cohesive look for each month. Glock was elated with the finished product which proved to be a fan favorite.
